Ajwain or Carom seeds is an indigenous Indian spice, used in almost all of the daily and staple food curries prepared in the Indian households. Both leafs and seed like fruits are consumed by humans. Having a bitter and pungent taste, and even a small quantity of it dominating the flavor of the dish, they are rarely eaten raw, and are commonly dry roasted or fried in ghee/butter. This develops a more subtle and complex aroma, and hence is primarily used to add flavor to lentil dishes. We process this fruit keeping in mind to not hinder its intrinsic effects, and pack it carefully for long term use.
